About Us

The last few years have shown us how important our local environment is for both our physical and mental wellbeing and how feeling part of the community can make a huge difference to people’s lives.

Purley in Bloom started in June 2021 when a random group of local people attended a meeting organised by Purley BID, we now have a strong core of enthusiastic “bloomers” with a passion to make Purley a greener and more environmentally friendly place to live. Purley BID continues to be an important sponsor and we are even hoping to win an award!

In partnership with 29th Purley Scouts our volunteers have already completed several local projects and received a lovely thank you from a Purley resident who uses a mobility scooter.

We have formed a close collaboration with Croydon council and TFL (gyratory system owner) and are busy planning for the future. Going forward we plan to host several community projects as well as creating smaller “friendship” groups to manage specific roads/areas. 

We would absolutely love you to join us and get involved, no experience is needed and even an hour now and then can make a significant difference. It’s also a great way to meet local people.
